Volunteers from GE Healthcare build and plant a teaching garden at the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
Community Kitchen is a culinary job training program for unemployed or underemployed adults. Participants get the training and certification to find sustainable employment in the food service industry. Throughout the course of the 14-week class, participants create wholesome meals for Food Shelf clients using donated and rescued food.
Robert Egger is the founder of DC Central Kitchen in our nation’s capitol. Our culinary job training program, Community Kitchen, is modeled after Robert’s program.
CEFS runs a grocery delivery program for individuals with mobility issues. Alice, our program coordinator, organized a party to help bring the program participants together at the Food Shelf.
